Genesys at Xperience: control planes, context, and a simpler workspace

On 2 September 2026 Genesys put Contextual Intelligence and an AI Control Plane at the center of Cloud CX. Growing teams still need the same governance without the orchestration layer.

At Xperience in Las Vegas on 2 September 2026, Genesys announced a set of pieces that read like an operating system for agentic CX: Navigator as an AI-native front door, Orchestrator to keep work moving, Contextual Intelligence to hold the story, and an AI Control Plane for oversight. Agentic Virtual Agent also picked up native voice work, MCP connectivity, and end-of-turn detection so the bot waits until the caller actually finished the thought.

What is generally available, and what is not

Genesys said Contextual Intelligence and the AI Control Plane are available now. Navigator is expected in the fourth quarter of their current fiscal year, running 1 November 2026 through 31 January 2027. Orchestrator is later still, aimed at February through April 2027. If a slide deck treats the whole stack as here today, ask for the GA column.

The SMB translation

A control plane is a good idea. Most 10 to 80 person teams do not need a separate orchestration product to get one. They need business hours, an IVR that routes to the right seat, an AI employee who can overflow after hours, and a person who can barge or take the call with the transcript still attached.

  • Front door: IVR, queues, and smart routing, not a static menu forever.
  • Context: one inbox for voice, SMS, WhatsApp, and Messenger.
  • Oversight: recordings, live monitoring, and Assist Pro on the same line.

Avaga Calling already puts the number, the queue, and the seat in one workspace. The first local or toll-free DID is in the plan. Extra numbers are $1 a month. That is governance you can actually turn on this week.

Take the Genesys message seriously: context and oversight are the product now. Then pick the smallest system that can hold both. For most Avaga customers, that is the workspace they already log into, not a new control plane SKU.
